Estate Sales Live Auctions

Hello New Year!!

Hello to all my favorite auction junkies and crazy gypsies!! It’s a new year and I have new and exciting things for you.

We are starting to fill up our calendar with lots of exciting auctions and sales coming up.  I will give you a few dates in the post so that you can block them out on your calendar.  But, before I do I want to tell you about some new things that will be happening at our sales and auctions.

FLASH SALE

Many of you know we had a house fire back in March of 2021.  We are desperate for space to hold our belongings, for a short time, that were not lost in that fire, in order for us to move forward in the rebuild. So, I have come up with an exciting way to spice up your winter and free up my shop for a short term space for my own personal use.

Hence, the Flash Sale!!!!!

Thursday, Feb. 10- Saturday Feb. 12

478165 Highway 95

****PLEASE WEAR YOUR SPIKED ICE COVERS FOR YOUR SHOES!! THE PARKING AREA IS SLICK AND WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE HURT.****

How this is going to work is:

Everything will be inside the shop and marked.  All sales between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day will be the asking price.

From 1:01 p.m. to 3 p.m. all items not sold yet will be HALF PRICE.

The sale will close exactly at 3 p.m.  Those shopping will be notified 15 minutes prior to closing  in order to ring up their items.

This next part is important:

EACH DAY OF THE SALE ALL NEW ITEMS WILL COME OUT.

This is important too:

ON SATURDAY at 3:00 we will bring out all the items that were passed on the previous days and all those items will now be 75% off their original price!!

You will not want to miss this.  No other estate sale company has ever done anything like this and we are hoping to make this an annual event.

So, to recap; come each day.  Shop for the items you must have in the morning. Come back at 1 p.m to see what you need at half price.  Do this each day for three days as ALL NEW MERCHANDISE WILL BE OUT EACH DAY. Come back at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and score big time!!

AUCTION BUCKS/ESTATE SALE BUCKS

We are excited to implement this exciting plan.  So many of you over the years have referred us to your friends and family. Because of this wonderful act we have been able to keep our cost of advertising for sales down to a minimum.  Word of mouth has done the job!

We feel like those who are doing this should receive something for their kindness.  I always ask a potential client how they heard about us.  If you choose to share our company with a friend or family member and they book and complete a sale you will receive $250 in what we are calling Auction Bucks or Estate Sale Bucks. Once the auction or estate sale has been paid out to the client we will then hold your name on file with $250 for you to spend at further auctions or estate sales.  All referred sales must have been completed and finalized in order to have your auction bucks applied to your account.  All Auction Bucks or Estate Sale Bucks must be spent within one year of receiving them.

GIVING BACK

Last but not least, our company is going to team up and support three local non-profits in the Sandpoint/Bonner County area.  We will be donating 5% of our profits from our sales and auctions during the 2022 calendar year to the following:

Kinderhaven

Kinderhaven is very close and dear to my heart.  I am a lover of children.  Having had six children my own and eight grandchildren, four exchange students and multiple others that needed homes when  theirs was not a good place to be, during my life I have a soft spot for the kids who come through Kinderhaven.

In the past I have done four Community Assistance League (CAL) Kinderhaven Trees for the Festival of Trees.  Those trees raised near top dollar for Kinderhaven and People’s Choice for CAL. This event was always a highlight of the Christmas season and we all look forward to it coming back “in person”. The pandemic has affected the Festival of Trees the last two seasons making it take place virtual.  We would like to donate to this non-profit in order to help raise much needed funds not raised by the Festival of Trees.

Senior Center and Daybreak

I personally love the Senior Center in Sandpoint.  If you have not gone in there or have personally used the facility, you should make time to do so.  It is such a wonderful place for our aging population to have.  There are many activities and outings available for our seniors, as well as, delicious daily lunch served Monday-Thursday and breakfast of Fridays.

We personally use Daybreak, a memory care respite provider, to help us with my mother-in-law.  To her we call it “club” and she truly enjoys going and looks forward to her time with her friends.

Donations are important to this non-profit.  Donations help “fill in the gaps” that sometimes lag between grants and other funding.  We are happy to help.

Last but not least…..

Panhandle Special Needs (PSNI)

PSNI is very near and dear to my heart.  I am one of the lucky ones in life that was blessed with a child with Down Syndrome and Autism.  Caleb is now 30 years old and some of you may have seen him helping me at some of our events.  He is such a blessing to us and a delight to be around.  Next time you see him say hello…it will make your day!

Anyway, we are excited to donate to this wonderful non-profit that provides services to clients and their families with disabilities in Bonner County.  We are hoping to help donate towards a new facility for the wonderful organization.  The Cottage thrift store located next door to PSNI helps fund the non-profit, however, they have had an increase in rent and really could use a boost from our community.

Donation Jars

We will be having donation jars at all our events this year to help raise funds for these organizations.  No pressure will ever be put on any one to donate.  If you feel inclined to do so, we appreciate it.

AND A DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

Our next big adventures are in the works.  We have a client that is ready to have a sale and is just waiting for the COVID numbers in Bonner County to drop.  This is a really nice sale and you will all want to be part of it.  Stay tuned for updates of this possible March or April sale.

April or May is looking up for a one day auction.  We will have specifics on that as it moves forward in the process and the snow recedes!

Save this date…July 21,22,23 and 24

We have a fabulous auction coming for you in 2022!! This one will be located in the Selle Valley and will have it all!! If your planning your vacation plans now for this summer you will not want to be out of town for this one!! The whole “shibang” is up for sale.  Years of collecting, tools, sportsman equipment, household, shop and barn items,  antiques, guy stuff and gal stuff; everything under the sun will be available for purchase.  We will start putting the sale together in June so look forward to those pictures!! Advertising will start early. Please share this information with all your family and friends.Thursday, July 21 will be the preview and auction July 22-24.

I know this was a long post.  Thank you for letting me pour it all out in one post.  I like to keep things shorter, but so much has happened!  We look forward to seeing you at the FLASH SALE, February10-12.

Blessings,

Julia

Looking for Space and Sale Cancelation

Thank you so much for all those who came out in the rain and cold last week to our Open House Holiday Sale. We appreciate all of our wonderful customers.

Many of you know that we are only allowed two sales a year at our home place.  The September 9-11 sale and our holiday sale in October were those two sales.  We get items in all year and are actively looking for another permanent home for Gypsy Girl and JKern Auction Group. I’m reaching out in hopes you will keep a lookout for us. If you are looking for something during the year, please give me a call at 208-920-3286, we very well might have it!

We need at least 2500 square feet and it needs to be zoned for auctions and estate sales.  I’d like a bigger space, but 2500 is the minimum. If you have a space you think might fit, please give me a call at our business line 208-920-3286.

We are sad to say our next sale in the Selle Valley on November 18-20 has been canceled.  The family has decided to go in a different direction with their items.

We are booking into next year.  One of the problems we run into when helping our customers is they call too late; we are either booked or there is not enough time to set up a sale or auction for the amount of items they have. It is better for anyone considering an estate sale or auction to call early to begin the discussion of their potential sale.

If you or anyone you know are considering moving, downsizing, etc.,  and is in need of our services, please call us or forward our information. We’d love to talk to you. Each client has different needs and we always start the conversation with a free consultation.  Seeing the need is the only way I can recommend the right service for the clients needs.  We do both estate sales and auctions. Not everyone’s place is an estate sale, as well as, not every one’s place is an auction.  I walk the whole place and look at everything.  After discussing all the details I determine my recomendation to the client. Costs for each service are different and are determined by many factors. Call us for a conversation.

Thank you for your business this year and your support. We hope you have a wonderful and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Thank you,

Julia Kern

Check out the pictures to the left of this post.  Since there are over 1700 lots available we have only posted a glimpse of what is available.

Parking will open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8:45.  Doors will open for viewing items at 9 a.m. and the auction will begin at 10 a.m. Please follow the attendants directions in order for us to get the most people up near the home as possible.  We do have the golf cart for use for those who need some assistance getting up to the auction.  Flag it down for a ride. The driver will be going up and down the road helping those who need assistance.

We are expecting to get through about 700 items each day.  Most items are in order of how they will be auctioned.  However, we will be splitting the guns up into two groups and will be auctioning them 14 at a time.  The first 14 will be on Saturday and the second 13 plus the sword will be on Sunday. Absentee bids will be accepted on Thursday for all three days. Friday you may only absentee on Saturday and Sunday’s items.  Saturday you may only absentee on Sunday’s items.  This is a huge auction and a clerking nightmare.  In order for all absentee bids to be accounted for on each item we must make the cutoffs for bidding absentee the day before.

We will have pop up tents and seating available on a first come first served basis.  You are welcome to bring your own of each and stake your claim!  Dress for Idaho weather, bring a blanket because you just never know around here!

On Saturday we will be under the big white tents.  Friday they are being used for merchandise.  Sunday we will be out in the barn and moving quickly through those lots.  Each area is packed and and fabulous finds are through out.

Parking is up at the home and along the road going into the neighborhood. The parking attendant will be helping everyone squeeze in.  We have a change and are no longer going to be able to park in the field next to the highway.  Please leave room for people to drive down the street by parking on one side or the other of the road.

Please leave your pets at home as we are expecting a huge crowd.  Also, children are welcome, but we ask you to keep them with you at all times.  This home is close to the water and next to the railroad tract.  Safety first!

Please be prepared to take your winning bids with you each day.  Large items can be left with arrangements for pick up no later than Monday, April 12.  Please talk to the cashier/registration desk attendants.

We look forward to seeing you at 232 Flat Water Lane, Sandpoint on Thursday for the preview and registration and again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the auction.

See you tomorrow!!

NOTICE: We imputed over 1700 items into an Excel program thinking that we were going to be able to use our new software on this sale. Unfortunately, we were not able to do so.  When we posted the list it is in Excel format.  We are trying to change that into something that you can read if you don’t have Excel.  For now, the second pdf comes up as a bunch of numbers, however, scroll down to the 39th page and you will see a list of items.  We will repost again once we figure this out.  So sorry for the inconvenience. This is not our area of expertise and are bringing in someone to help us!

We are expecting to get through about 700 items each day.  Most items are in order of how they will be auctioned.  However, we will be splitting the guns up into two groups and will be auctioning them 14 at a time.  The first 14 will be on Saturday and the second 13 plus the sword will be on Sunday.

Preview is Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until we slow down.  Auction days the doors will open at 9 a.m. for you to wander around and look.  Auction will start at 10 a.m..  Parking is up at the home and along the road going into the neighborhood. The parking attendant will be helping everyone squeeze in.  We have a change and are no longer going to be able to park in the field next to the highway.  Please leave room for people to drive down the street by parking on one side or the other of the road.

Auction Day Coming Soon!

Hello everyone! Auction day is almost upon us. I had intended to have your list and more pictures out at this point, however, Mother Nature decided to throw us a a small blow; literally BLOW! We lost our white tents in the storm, even though they were weighted down will steel!!

We have one more day of cleanup and resetting tables and items and we will be able to move on to finishing our final tagging.  Thank you for your patience.  Our PDF of the sale list will come out at that time along with the final pictures. We are working to make that happen by the end of the week. This is a massive sale and we are so excited to bring it to you.

Just a reminder the sale is located at 232 Flat Water Lane, Sandpoint.  (It was formally Buzzard Lane).  Preview day is Thursday, April, 8 from 9 to 4 or until you all stop coming! Auction days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 9-11. Doors open at 9 a.m. and Auction will start at 10 a.m.

Please respect the neighbors when parking.  There will be a parking attendant on hand to help you with parking in order to fit as many cars as possible.  You may also park along one side only of the road or in the field between the Highway 2 and the railroad tracks.  That parking spot will be about a two block walk.  You’ll be able to get your steps in for the day!!

Please do not bring dogs into the sale area.  Children are welcome, but please keep them with you at all times.  This home is close to the water, railroad tracks and there are many tents and buildings. We would not want anyone to be hurt.

Just a reminder to dress for the weather.  There will be tents to be under and chairs to sit on. You are welcome to bring your own of both.  I’d recommend an umbrella and blanket…just in case! I’m looking at approximately going through 700 items each day and want you to be comfortable.

If you are planning on being the winning bidder of a firearm, please be prepared to pick up your gun at Wrenco Firearms, in Ponderay on Highway 95 and Bronx Road. They are is acting as our FFL for this sale.  You will be paying for the gun with our cashier and our transfer agent will take the firearm to Wrenco for you. There you will complete the necessary paperwork and pay a background fee to them.
